Company History
Pacific Wing is a family started and family operated small business,
which brings a professional personal service to its customers.
Owner Rod Judy runs the business with his wife, brother-in-law,
son, and daughter-in-law. The whole company has a family feel
and will pass that feel on to its customers, giving a pleasant and wonderful flying experience.

Pacific Wing began its operations on April 10, 1985; the first day after the
deregulation of Alaska's aviation industry. Rod Judy and his wife Darcy started the
company with a single Cessna 180 on straight floats. Later on,
the company upgraded their 180 for an amphibious Cessna 185. This allowed them
to move the base of operations from the seaplane float, to the more convenient airport.
The company slowly grew, and added a Dehavilland DHC-2 Beaver on amphibious floats
to the single plane fleet. Soon after this purchase came the addition of another
Amphibious Cessna 185. The company serviced many logging camps during
this time of expansion, including the largest camp in the world, Hobart Bay. Along side
the needs of the logging camps were an infant tourism industry, bear hunters, sport and
commercial fishermen, campers, scientists, and many an adventurous spirit. Along with
the growing business came the addition of a large airport hangar, another straight
float Dehavilland DHC-2 Beaver and its own floating hangar at the seaplane dock. With
the slowing down of the logging industry and the downturn of the economy, the company
has sold the amphibious beaver and is today composed of two amphibious Cessna 185's
and one straight float Dehavilland Beaver. With a booming tourism industry and the
continued need for air service, Pacific Wing continues to looks forward to the future,
and will continue to be one of the best aviation outfits in Alaska.
